Route 7 days from Ouarzazate to Marrakech via desert of Ouzina and Merzouga

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora

From your accommodation we will start this magnificent stage towards the Great South. The first thing we will visit is one of the most important icons of Morocco, the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, one of the best preserved in all of North Africa and declared World Heritage by UNESCO.Here have been filmed countless famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator or the Kingdom of Heaven but what really matters is to know this form of defensive settlement that gives us an idea of how was the life of its inhabitants and their way of life, then make a panoramic tour of the city of silence, or city without noise, Ouarzazate. Situated on top of a large plateau and also known as the Hollywood of the African continent, Ouarzazate was a former military detachment and today is the administrative capital of the Drâa Valley.we will visit its kasbah Tamarit of great beauty. Then, we will continue our way through Ait Saoun and its mountain pass of 1,660 meters, Tizi-N-Tinifft. We will follow the Drâa Valley, more than 200 kilometers of palm groves that make this one of the most beautiful routes in Morocco. Not so long ago the commercial caravans coming from Central Africa passed through here, arrival in Zagora, as close to the desert as its famous sign reminds us: “Timbuktu 52 days”, dinner and breakfast at your accommodation.

Day 2 : Zagora – Rally track Paris Dakar – Desert of Ouzina

Today we will cover a very special stage on the track that was used in the Paris Dakar Rally. We will cross the desert area of the Draa valley and its plateaus, crossing with an infinity of Berber villages, finally we will arrive to the desert of Ouzina where we will be able to contemplate the sublime sunset from the great dune, then we will walk to our lodging, the Riad Ouzina TGM where we will have dinner and a pleasant evening.

Day 3: Ouzina – Erg Ouzina – Ouzina village – nomad culture in the Sahara

For the early risers we propose to see sunrise between the dunes. After breakfast, we will go to the village of Ouzina to learn more about the way of life of its inhabitants. We will visit the bread oven and its orchards. Eat “Berber pizza”, maybe we can get a henna tattoo if someone wants and in the afternoon we will see the fossil mines, then return to the desert of Ouzina to try to find an authentic nomadic family, have tea with them, dinner and overnight at the Riad Ouzina TGM.

Day 4 : Ouzina Desert – Khamlia – Merzouga Desert

Our route on the Dakar track will take us back to the asphalt until we reach the village of Khamlia or “the black village of Mali”, a stop to enjoy their African percussions that make up the spiritual music Gnawa.We will go to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, we will change the vehicle as a means of transport for camels on which we will go to enjoy the sunset and spend the night in the middle of the dunes, dinner and overnight in Berber tent camp.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Erg Chebbi – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra River Gorge and Dades River Gorge

After breakfast we return with the camels to the vehicle to continue to the city of Rissani. A walk through the economic capital of southern Morocco visiting its authentic souk full of colors, then follow towards the gorge of the river Todra, a spectacular valley formed by rock walls that reach 150 meters high, a walk will be worthwhile in this area.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Thousand Kasbahs Route – Marrakech

First thing in the morning we will visit the Dades Valley, then we will follow the thousand kasbahs route such as kasbah Itrane and Kasbah Amridil, then we will return to the port of Tichka to Marrakech. At dusk is a good time to climb to one of the panoramic terraces of the Plaza de Jmaa el Fna and observe the hustle and bustle of this city always awake: funambulists, snake charmers, storytellers … endless mix of people, we will spend a fun day 7 days from Ouarzazate to the desert in 4×4 tours in Morocco.

Day 7 : Transfer to the airport

At the agreed time, we will pick you up at your riad to transfer you to the airport.
