Tour 11 Days from Marrakech to the Merzouga Desert and Imperial Cities

Day 1: Marrakech

Arrival at Marrakech airport. Our accompanying driver will take you to your accommodation in the city’s medina.

Day 2: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat

Breakfast. Transfer by motorway to Casablanca. Upon arrival, exterior visit to the surroundings of the majestic and highest in the world Hassan II Mosque. Continuation of the route to Rabat, to visit, in a panoramic way, the most outstanding places such as the Oudayas Fortress, the Mohammed V Mausoleum and the Hassan II Tower. Accommodation.

Day 3: Rabat – Chefchaouen

Breakfast. We will go northwest to reach the city of Chefchaouen. Upon arrival, we will go up to a viewpoint and understand the reason for its beauty and its location. Then we will go down to the medina where you can walk through it. Accommodation.

Day 4: Chefchaouen – Fez

Breakfast. After spending the morning in Chefchaouen we will go to Fez where we will arrive in the afternoon. Accommodation.

Day 5: Fez

Breakfast. Your local Fes guide will come to your accommodation to start a guided tour. Fez has known how to maintain its traditions, its crafts, its trades, and its university, one of the oldest in the world. Not surprisingly, Fes was considered “the city of Faith and Knowledge”, becoming the capital of culture and one of the most important religious centers in the country.

We will visit its medina, called Bali, one of the largest medieval sites in the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, with its souks and alleyways, we will also visit the Royal Palace and its Jewish quarter. Accommodation.

Day 6: Fez – Merzouga

Today we will leave for the south. Among the wonders that we will find are: Ifrane, known as Moroccan Switzerland, the Cedros de Azrou forest with its curious inhabitants, the volcanic region of Azrou, the magnificent rocky valley of the Ziz river as well as its immense palm grove. Continuation of the trip to Merzouga. Accommodation and dinner in Riad at the foot of the dunes.

Day 7: Merzouga

After breakfast, we will visit the surroundings of Merzouga and Erg Chabbi, the great dune. We will visit towns like Khamlia, where descendants of ancient sub-Saharan settlers reside and who have maintained their traditions through spiritual music called Gnawa that we will also enjoy. We will see more Berber villages and traditions. Later, some dromedaries will lead us to the interior of the dunes where we will have dinner and listen to traditional Berber music. We will stay and have dinner in a luxury tent camp with a private bathroom.

Day 8: Merzouga – Boumalne Dades

After breakfast, we will continue our route. We will make a stop in the city of Rissani to visit an interesting local market that provides supplies to more than 600 towns around the desert (it is not open every day, alternatively we will take you to Siljimassa, the origin of the Alawite dynasty that currently reigns in Morocco). Then we will continue to Tinerghir to visit one of the most beautiful geological sections of the Middle Atlas, the Todra gorges. Accommodation and dinner in Boumalne Dades.

Day 9: Boumalne Dades – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

In the morning and after breakfast, we will continue along the Route of the Thousand Kashbas to Ouarzazate. From this city, known for its great film studios, we will take the course of the Ounila river, there we will visit the Kasar of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and whose interest fully justifies a visit to this area of the Altas. Once again, the Ounila valley will lead us to the Kashba Taoulet, another historic and beautiful place and the last visit before arriving in Marrakech. Accommodation.

Day 10: Marrakech

Breakfast. Our certified local guide will pick you up at your accommodation to take you to know Marrakech, known among other things as the red city and which contains places such as the Koutoubia mosque minaret, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace, many of which will be visited . In the afternoon, free time will be available to visit the beautiful and famous medina. Accommodation.

Day 11: Marrakech – airport

Breakfast. At the agreed time and place, transfer to the airport to take your return flight.
