7 days tour from Tangier to Marrakech by Chefchaouen and Merzouga desert

Day 1 : Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fez

Very early, from Tangier, we will start our journey through the Rif mountains and the city of Tetouan, until we reach Chefchaouen. We will place ourselves in a place to have a beautiful panoramic view of this city. Now we will continue to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, after a guided tour of its interior, we will head to the nearby and historic imperial city of Meknes, where we will have lunch and a guided tour. Now, late in the afternoon we will head directly to the city of Fez. Dinner and overnight in riad selected by Family Morocco Tour.

Day 2 : Fez – City tour

After breakfast, we will begin our visit to the oldest city in Morocco. We will start with the Royal Palace, the Bab Bou Jeloud Gate, the Jewish quarter which was the first mellah ever built in Morocco. We will also visit the famous Al Qaraouine University which is the oldest in Africa, the leather tanneries, the Attarine museum and the mausoleum of Mulay Idriss, among other places. After lunch, we will visit a tile cooperative and then enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the entire medina of Fez. Accommodation and dinner in riad. 

Day 3 : Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

Breakfast. Departure to Merzouga, the route will take us to Ifrane, the cedar forest of Azrou, the volcanic area around, then the gorges of Ziz. We will reach the Ziz palm grove, on the way to Erfoud and Rissani. Finally, on arrival in Merzouga, we will undertake a camel ride that will take us to the campsite among the dunes of Erg Chebbi, to spend the night surrounded by stars, dunes and Berber music. 

Day 4 : Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

For the early risers we propose to contemplate the magnificent sunrise over the dunes of the desert, after this majestic moment we will have a rich breakfast and then start our way back in camel to our 4×4 and then continue with the route that will take us through the mountains of Saghro to Tinghir. There we will make a short walk through the Todra Gorges before reaching the Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight. 

Day 5 : Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

In the morning and after breakfast, we will visit the Dades Valley and then continue along the Route of the Thousand Kashbas to Ouarzazate. From this city, known for its great cinematographic studios, we will take the course of the river Ounila, there we will visit the Kasar of Ait Ben Haddou, declared World Heritage by UNESCO and whose interest fully justifies the visit to this area of the Altas. Once again the Ounila valley will lead us to the Kashba Taoulet, another historical and beautiful place and last visit before reaching Marrakech. Dinner and overnight in Riad. 

Day 6 : Marrakech: City Tour

Breakfast. Our certified local guide will pick us up at our accommodation to take us to Marrakech, known among other ways as “the red city”. Among other places our guide will show us places such as the Majorelle Gardens, the minaret of the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadies Tombs and the Bay Palace. We will have lunch in a classic restaurant near Jmaa El-Fna Square and in the afternoon, you will have free time to visit the beautiful and famous medina. Dinner and overnight in riad.

Day 7 : Transfer to the airport

After breakfast, at the agreed time we will accompany you to the airport where we will finish our services. 

The trip includes:

  • All-terrain vehicle, usually Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
  • Driver accompanying in your language
  • Wi-Fi, disinfectant gel, replacement face masks, and free bottled water in every car
  • Official local private guide in Chefchaouen, Fez and Marrakech
  • Camel ride, one camel per person
  • Night in camp tent with private bathroom
  • Half board accommodation: breakfast and dinner. Fez and Marrakech, only breakfast
